Biography
I come from a family tree of musicians. Back in the 1920's My grandfather and his various brothers and cousins toured the country in a big band/swing groups called
"the Rucker Family Swing Band" and " the Little Ruckers". I remember seeing his trombone in the corner of his house when i was a kid growing up in Port Huron, MI.
Though i never heard him play it, I have various newspaper articles and picture from back in the 20's of them performing.
My Dad is musically talented. He plays the keys and is really good on the saxophone. I have various recordings of his project called "Silent Dream".
I have been involved in multiple projects with him since i was a kid and rarely collab with him these days.
I have been involved with and or played music and instruments for as long as i can remember. I started playing the drums at the age of 4 and am self taught on the guitar, bass,
piano, saxophone, dj, and production and recording. I have been raised on every genre of music including, but not limited to: Jazz, Classical, Rock, Metal, New Age,
Blues and Electronic. I grew up watching my Dad and Uncle(s) play in various bands in the 80's. I started my first band in the garage of my moms house in MI
when i was 8 years old.
In high school, I started a band called "Explode the Myth". That was my first experience playing out gigs. I played guitar in that band and we sounded like
a cross between Cannibal Corpse and WuTang Clan. My first gig was Sudsy Malone's in Clifton followed soon after by Bogart's High school band challenge in which
we made to the 4th round. We were ultimately disqualified for swearing in between songs.
Explode the Myth played a total of 4 band challenges @ Bogart's
and every year we were disqualified, but we put on some crazy shows! Every time we played someone walked out with an injury....something i took great pride in
at that age and mentality! some shows include Southgatehouse, and countless parties throughout n. kentucky being that i graduated from Boone co. High.
Explode the Myth disbanded in 1997.
In 1997, I joined "BarefootPimp". We made several recordings and played between 25 and 35 shows at Southgate, Sudsy's, MadFrog, and also down in lexington, KY.
We actually cut a record recorded at the Recording Workshop in chillicothe, OH in which the bass player Travis and I made the artwork.
We practiced at the Bandwagon in Over the Rhine. I played the drums and it was killer! Our sound was a cross between Tool, Primus, and Sevendust. Yes, we were
a great band with great talent. I ultimately moved to MI in 1999 and quit the band.
In 2000 I moved back to KY and formed a band with singer/guitarist Daniel Cropper called "MisterCreeper". We played many many shows across the tri-state. This
sound was pure reggae and i played the drums and programed a bit of drum machine layers.
I've always been attracted to rythms and electronic sounds and layers. I've been known to dissect every aspect of everything i listen to and/or create...maybe
even a bit too much at times but hey...it is what it is. I've created Hundreds of tracks in the genre of dnb, house, deathmetal, electronic, noise, experimental,
hip hop, ambient and dancehall. Basically, whatever comes out of me musically can and usually does depend on my mood and the moods of others.
Ive been Djing for about 8 years and was initially turned on by drum n bass, but i've been listening to techno ever since L.A. style came out with their self titled
cassette tape which i bought in chicago on an Art class field trip in 1992. I remember...I bought Dreamtheater, Pantera (cowboys), Lords of acid, and LA style! lol.
I spin House, Electro, Jungle, DnB, Hardstyle, Trance, Dubstep and most recently Minimal tech house. Ritchie Hawtin has been one of my favorite DJ's since 1993 when i was
in tenth grade. Just thought i would share that with you.
I have various side projects some currently dormant, some currently active, all of which include: Indifferent(grindcore), Ill manik(rap), All Under Control(rap),
DrasticMeasurez(rap), theFrozenShadow(experimental), A Slight Breach of Etiquette(electronic/experimental), and multiple un named Ambient projects.
