Biography
Dan Mei is amateur mashup and remix producer from Denmark. He started out deejay-ing in the middle of the 80s with acouple of friends. Playing at youth clubs and school parties all over Copenhagen. Mostly doing it for fun. He have worked at a local alternative radiostation in heart of Copenhagen.
Through the years he has done tons of remixes and megamixes. He used to play all different kinds of instruments. Played the piano and violin for years. While in high school he followed the major music programs. Dan Mei also composed and produced some of his own compositions.
First ever mashup he listen to was a White Label mashup release featuring 'New Order Vs Yazoo - Blue Monday Don't Go'. Inspired by this mashup Dan Mei started out making bootlegs in the fall of '08. Dan Mei's first mashup, 'Snap Vs Katy Perry - I Kissed A Dancer' went to the nummer 1 spot on xStreamist.com’s "Most Popular Mix This Week" chart.
As a member of GYBO forum Dan Mei's first impact was here his 'Nightwish Vs Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love In The Meadows Of Heaven' followed by 'Lady Gaga Vs Ace Of Base - Cruel Dance'.
In the early '09 Dan Mei teamed up with German mashup producer Marc Johnce forming D.M.F. (Danish-German Mashup Forces). First release 'Kelly Clarkson Vs Pink Vs Ozzy Osbourne Vs Daft Punk - My Life On The Crazy Train Sucks (So What?)' was named "Mashup Of The Week" on Popbytes.com and Mashstix.com. It was also named "Mashup Of The Month" on GlobalDjNetwork.com. DJ Paul V from Pobbytes.com said: "...Your life will suck without this mashup!." 'My Life On the Crazy Train Sucks (So What?)' also managed to hit The Anti-Hit List TOP 10 of TORONTO STAR and the hit list of Bootie TOP 10, April '09.
His most popular productions include: 'A-Ha Vs Tears For Fears - Analogue Shouts', 'Akon Vs T.A.T.U. Vs One Republic - Beautiful Clowns (Too Late To Apologize)', 'Madonna Vs Keri Hilson Ft Timbaland - Hung Up Favor', 'Snap Vs Timbaland Ft Keri Hilson - Rhythm Is The Way I Are' and the 3rd D.M.F release 'Snow Patrol Vs Backstreet Boys - Chasing Cars That Way', which marked the first Dan Mei release for Mashup-industries.com.
He just finished off his first solo release for Mashup-industries.com featuring Chris Cornell's current '09 smash hit "Part Of Me" mixed with Busta Rhymes Ft. Linkin Park's "We Made It".
Dan Mei has been approached to make a track for the upcoming Summer Booty 2009 mashup album.
