Biography
Sheffield based minimal/tech house DJ duo Kassien, are James Maplebeck and Mark Reed. The pair met by chance some 6 years ago and discovered they had a mutual passion and love for electronic music. Both were already quite well established DJs in their own right, and in 2005 they began to promote themselves under the guise Kassien.
In the relatively short time they have been performing, bookings and interest have come from promoters both locally and as far a field as China. In today's competitive local DJ circuit, Kassien have established themselves as Sheffields finest minimal/tech house act, with residencies at Cargo and Four and notable guest appearances at Yousefs night Circus with the man himself and Justin Long, Hallam Jam with Anne Savage, with Freak/Circus resident Stel Alexander at Cargo and at nights Dirty Cheese, Clunge, Pressure, Plasma, Sola and Lust to name but a few.
Kassien can offer promoters their trademark minimal/tech sound, wether at the start of the night, to warm up, or at the end to keep the crowd jumping until the early hours. Their sets are full of surprises and as a DJ duo, they blend the personalities and skills of 2 different people into 1 thumping sound, which is always delivered with breathtaking maturity and accuracy!!!
